VIKING SURF’SUP is in Mexico’s Costa Del Sol !!!

Guess it was about time that we came up with some more travel news, great surfing spots, fantastic food and lodging.

This time it’s Mexico!
South Florida Viking Surf’SUP Team riders Darlan Lopes, Christian Wolthers and Photografer Bernardo Nogueira spent the last 6 days in Manzanillo Bay, Troncones, Saladita and El Rancho shooting photos, surfing excellent waves, testing boards and accessories.

There they met with another group including Viking Surfboards founder John Wolthers 3 times Brazilian Champ/Masters, Homero Antunes and Luis Fernando “Camarao”, pioneer surfers from Santos, Brazil.

This part of Mexico’s Pacific Coast offers uncounted point breaks, mostly lefts, the water is warm and the weather dry with mild temperatures this time of the year.

Most lefts are long and pealing over rock carpets, other point-breaks are very challenging and with sharp rocks surfacing all along the ride.

Food is outstanding when you stick to restaurants in the better ” Casas / hotels/Inns or Resorts”.

There are also a few beach restaurants with noticeable consumer traffic and busy parking lots, those are usually also worth your money.
Some hints of the best places to stay and eat are the ” Inn Manzanillo Bay, The Present Moment Spa Resort and a beach shack at the South end of El Rancho Beach ” for after surf session meals.

One place you want to stay at is the ” Inn Manzanillo Bay” simply the best experience in Mexico’s Costa del Sol besides surfing.

Viking Surfboards launches its ” Retail webpage www.vikingsurfsup.com” in Guatemala during the 1rst – 2013 National ASOSURF Competition.

Viking SurfSUP is back to Guatemala, this Time to launch its new website for Global Sales and to follow it’s surf team compete at the first ASOSURF National Competition in 2013.

New team members Amos Rivera, Gefre Lima and Harvy Gil received their new boards, Christian Mendez, Mario Waimea and Cindy Lone also got new performance boards.

This event happened in Iztapa, under epic 6′ to 8′ waves with ideal weather and great public attendance.

Viking team riders scored high with Amos Rivera, Harvy Gil and Gefre Lima all from Champerico, finishing First thru Third on Men’s Open, Cindy Lone the 2012 National Champ won Women’s Open category.

Harvey Gil still scored a 3rd place on the Longboard Category, a great overall performance by Viking Team Riders.

Amado de Jesus from El Salvador also made it to the Semi finals on Open while Machete Mendez, three times National Champ finished 5^th in the final count.

As a matter of fact, second place on Women’s Open was not a team rider but surfed A Viking board.

Viking Surfboards Guatemala and El Salvador are now ” Viking Surf’SUP Central America ” now, our reach also extends into Costa Rica, Nicaragua and Honduras.
