Viking Team Rider and Free Surfer Thiago Testinha does the Peruvian Coast!!!

 We have been  traveling for  15 days, first stop was Arica, a very strong and dangerous wave, nice place with very good wines and quite affordable lodging.

Following the 12 feet swell  on March 25th, we scored Punta Roccas  totally “Classic” .There are good and constant waves around the Southern Coast of Peru: Punta Hermosa,La Isla, Senoritas, Knights and other beaches. the South is very laidback, with friendly people and many choices of hotels and houses to rent, the Ceviche is OUTSTANDING!
Now we are further North, at Lobitos, Chicama and  Pacasmayo, waiting for a 18 feet swell that is forecasted for the first week of May. 
  Peru is perfect for big wave riding, these swell are quite constant during this time of the year… more about our trip to follow/come.  Hasta luego!

The last two Hawaiian winters have been very productive for the Brazilian Alessandro Costa.
 
In spots like Pipeline, Rocky Point, Sunset and Waimea Bay,  35 years old  did well and saw his talented be recognized by the Brazilian media.
 
Check out the video above the performances of Alessandro Costa , who has left his home town Joao Pessoa six years ago  to live in The North Shore Hawaii.

Wave Of  His Life In Pipe.

During the first swell that lifted Banzai Pipeline in 2011, Alessandro  took  one of the best waves of the day (2/1) in heavy session on the Hawaiian North Shore.
 
The free surfer Alessandro Costa,  from João Pessoa  Brazil who left to reside in Hawaii five years ago, took responsibility for a bomb in the second reef and provided a good time at Pipe.
 
Married to Japanese Momo and father of two children (Kaiano and Linda Mary),Alessandro always is present when the swell peaks on the slope like Sunset,Pipeline and Waimea.
 
In an interview with Waves, one of the main representatives of Paraiba Brazil  in winter says his life in Hawaii and Oahu wave surfed during the session at Pipe.

Yes, Viking Surfboards has now ventured into the Retail sector opening its first Viking and multibrand store in Fort Lauderdale.
This project foresees another three shops to open in South Florida by 2014.
The concept is very simple and clean, high-end Brand oriented ” one stop shop ” for all wave and flat water boards and accessories.
Surfboards, SUP’s, Body boards, Skim boards, Wake boards, Kite boards and Skate boards will be followed by all accessories.
Some additional “Cutting Edge” technology water proof products such as HD cameras, phone/ IPod cases and ear plugs complete our inventory.

Viking Surfboards Sponsors Jr. Category Competition in El Salvador

This weekend, Feb 18th, Viking Surfboards Crew from South Florida will be at Playa “La Paz”- La Libertad to support the 1st Viking Surf Competition in El Salvador.

Members of the Viking Guatemalan, US and Brazilian teams will also be there.

Alexandre Wolthers, Brazilian and Danish Longboard Champ in 2009/2010 will make a performance session just before the final heat.

Jonas Wolthers, 2010 Danish Jr. Champ will also perform.

Swell hits South Florida

Finally a quality swell hit South Florida this past Sunday, Feb 12th, everyone was out getting tubed and frozen as we hit record low temperatures that same day.

Viking team riders were there as well, Rolando William and Mauricio Kuhne shared the waves with another 50 surfers along the few 2nd street lineups.

Nader Taha from 2nd Street Surf Shop was also getting tube rides like there was no tomorrow!
